This beautiful garden bench is hand made from solid oak beams. It consists of 2 top beams approximately 6" x 6" (15cm x 15cm) sitting on similar size cross beams below. It is sanded smooth but left unfinished. As it is intended for use outdoors, it can either be left unfinished and it will age and develop a beautiful silvery/grey colouring, or it can be oiled to retain its lighter oak colouring and emphasise the grain. Being solid oak, it will weather well outside in the garden and treatment is non essential. A slightly higher version is also available using 9" x 5" base beams (23cm x 13cm)

Please note that the knots, shakes and splits are an integral part of the design and further splitting may occur in the months ahead. Because of the weight of these pieces, and to make it easier for shipping and moving, we despatch unassembled, the top beams merely locate onto pegs fixed in the base beams of the bench.
